Connect 8

Connect 8 provides an opportunity for you to “connect” in a small group setting with others through reading the scriptures, studying and discussing the Word, and fellowship. These small groups allow you to walk and grow in faith as well as develop long lasting bonds of friendship with other members of the church. if you would like more information how you could become part of a Connect 8 group, contact the church office at 620-662-6665.

Disciples Men

The purpose of Kansas Disciples Men is to provide fellowship and encouragement, increase knowledge of God as revealed in Jesus Christ, broaden spiritual horizons and develop leaders of the church. We hope to grow in loving relationship with God and other, and become more Christ-like in all we are and do.

The men of Park Place Christian Church can join together with other men on the second Saturday of every month at 8 a.m. for a fellowship breakfast. A fifth Monday fellowship is held at various district churches for dinner and fellowship. These men build lasting friendship through their involvement with Disciples Men.

Disciples Women

The women of Park Place have several program opportunities available.

The Park Place Christian Disciples’ Women meet the first Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. for a general meeting for a program, study, and fellowship. On the third Thursday of the month, they meet during the day for smaller circle meetings.

Once a year, the women connect with other women across the state by attending the Kansas Women’s Retreat held in October at the regional campground, Disciples Center at Tawakoni, with a nationally known speaker. The retreats provide opportunities for workshops, service, fun and fellowship with women from across the region.

To become connected to other DWF across the state, subscribe to News Bytes. News Bytes is published monthly near the first week of each month. It has news about KDW events and plans, as well as items about Regional Assemblies, Men’s events and other regional events that might be of interest to the women of Kansas. KDW Coordinator, Barb Runge, writes the newsletter and you can receive it by request at

Kansas Disciples Women (KDW) provides leadership and resources for all local units of Christian Women’s Fellowship and Disciples Women’s Fellowship. Susan Hill, Central District Representative, serves on the Regional DWF Cabinet.

Park Place has been involved with the Scouting movement since shortly after the church was established in 1948 and is home to Boy Scout Troop 321, and Cub Scout Pack 321.

While it’s common to think a Cub Scout Pack and the Boy Scout Troop are the same organization, they are in fact different scouting units.  Park Place keeps separate charters on both organizations.  Let’s go through the differences.

Cub Scout Pack 321 is a Cub Scout Pack.  Cub Scouts is designed for boys starting in the 1st grade, and provides age appropriate programming through a boys 5th grade year.  A Cub Scout will go through ranks Tiger (1st Grade), Wolf (2nd Grade), Bear (3rd Grade), Webelo (4th Grade), and Arrow of Light (5th Grade).  Typical Cub Scout activities include Pinewood Derby, Scouting for Food, Blue & Gold Banquet, Rain Gutter Regatta, Space Derby, and occasionally camping (Pack 321 goes camping 3 times a year).  Once a Cub Scout advances and earns their Arrow of Light in their 5th grade year they will “Cross Over” to a Boy Scout Troop.

Boy Scout Troop 321 is a Boy Scout Troop. “Boy Scouts” is designed for boys in 5th Grade until they turn 18.  The Boy Scout advancement program differs from the Cub Scout program in that a Boy Scout advances on their own regardless of their age.  How fast they earn merit badges and go through the ranks is up to the Scout.  Boy Scout ranks include: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle Scout.  Boy Scout activities are eclectic and can range from video games to wilderness survival.  A Boy Scout Troop typically goes camping once a month, with a weeklong trip during the summer.  Troop 321 is no exception.

If you have a boy who would be interested in joining scouts, or you would like to volunteer with either of Park Place’ scouting contact:

Every summer, Park Place participates in the local church softball league. In this league, all teams share a common bond of faith and commitment to Christian fellowship and beliefs. We have a wide range of skill levels among the teams so all are welcome. We begin each game with a prayer and end with a congratulations whether victory or loss. If softball isn’t your thing, come be a part of our lively cheering section! A fun time is had by all, and we would love for you to be a part.
